Maitake mushroom (Grifiola frondosa) is highly prized for its quality to maintain the body in recovering its normal activities and support the functioning of the immune system. The Maitake mushroom, thanks to two different processes of extraction of active ingredients approaches the problem from two different aspects at the same time.

Properties of Maitake mushroom

  • Fraction D - Immunomodulatory polysaccharides: beta 1,6 and beta 1,3 glucan

Components of Maitake mushroom

Maitake is rich in minerals (eg. potassium, calcium, magnesium), vitamins (B2, B3, vitamin D) as well as amino acids and fiber.

Most important part of Maitake can be called fraction D (polysaccharides called beta 1,6 and beta 1,3 glucan), which are complex carbohydrates with a high sugar content.

The discoverer of two other important components became Professor Harry Prais (Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC), and this so-called X and fraction ES (source: Alternative Medicine Review, June 2002 by Kurtis Kodama, Hiroaki Nanba). According to studies, the active substances of Maitake mushroom regulates blood pressure, blood sugar and insulin, fat metabolism in the liver and also cholesterol and triglycerides. Having the ability to break down fat, can be effective for weight loss.

However, the most important function of Maitake mushroom is to strengthen the immune system. As the polysaccharide beta-glucan activates white blood cells of the blood, macrophages that destroy those microorganisms which are responsible for the origin of cancer and diseases.

Destroying influence of fraction D of Maitake mushroom for cancer cells was proven by the research of Japanese scientists in 1955 (Kobe Pharmaceutical University). Harry Prays, the discoverer of the fraction X (lowering the level of sugar in the blood) and fraction ES (lowering blood pressure) conducted such a study, the basic assumption of which was that partly the cause of such chronic diseases as diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity is a violation of the ratio (balance) of glucose and insulin. In a study conducted in 1998 he proved the fact that the Maitake mushroom has a positive effect on the balance of glucose/insulin and this helps to prevent diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. Another study conducted at Georgetown University proved that extract from the mushroom Maitake really can enhance glucose-insulin metabolism.

Indications for use

  • benign tumors (polyps, adenomas, fibroadenomas, fibroids, etc.) therapy
  • normalization of hormonal background of the organism (in different endocrine disorders in the organism at pathologies of the endocrine glands (hypo- and hyperfunctions): diabetes, dysfunction of thyroid and adrenal dysfunction of the pituitary gland, severe menopause, and ovarian dysfunction
  • diabetes - metabolism of insulin and glucose
  • high blood pressure and high cholesterol – reduces their performance, lowers the risk of atherosclerosis
  • infectious diseases: viral diseases (hepatitis, measles, respiratory infections, chickenpox, influenza, shingles, herpes, polio, rabies, hemorrhagic fever, Ebola and HIV); bacterial diseases (coccal flora, tuberculosis, Listeria, Klebsiella, mycoplasmosis, esherihioz and others; fungal (candidiasis and others); diseases caused by protozoa – protozoan infections (leishmaniasis, malaria and others)
  • diffuse liver disease: viral hepatitis b and C activation of antiviral immunity, normalization in the production of enzymes by the liver, and eliminate inflammation of liver tissue

Method of application

Alternating a day of alcoholic and water extract 3 times daily 1 ml of the extract dissolved in water or other liquid for half an hour before a meal.

1 ml corresponds to the amount of liquid in a coffee spoon.

Continuous use of the maximum within 3 months, then 1 month break.

Not recommended for children suffering from autoimmune diseases and pregnant women.
